Thirteen-year-old Enoch Mpianzi will on Saturday be laid to rest at Kensington Secondary School in Johannesburg. 
The former Park Town Boys High School pupil died at a school camp at the Nyati Bush and Riverbreak lodge near Brits.
Mpianzi's death has brought into sharp focus a glaring lack of safety measures at adventure camps, which are not regulated.
About a week ago, Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi moved to suspend the school's principal Malcolm Williams.
Lesufi said  teachers involved in the outing would potentially be charged individually - based on an investigation into whether they were guilty of negligent behaviour - and all the district officials who handled the application of the school's visit will receive letters of suspension.

Magistrate details youth's alleged rape at hands of PSL team youth coach

Image:   Supplied A man who stands accused of raping a 14-year-old boy is a youth development coach for a KwaZulu-Natal based Premier Soccer League (PSL) team. This was revealed when the 25-year-old suspect appeared in the Pinetown magistrate's court on Monday. Reading out the charge against the accused, magistrate Gwendolyn Robinson alleged that on December 22 the accused sodomised the boy at a residence in Kloof, west of Durban. The baby-faced accused, whose identity cannot be revealed until he pleads, appeared in a navy blue golf T-shirt, jeans and sandals. He smirked from the dock while the charge he faces was being read. But what followed was no laughing matter as Robinson emphasised that should he be found guilty, a minimum sentence of life could be imposed, meaning he could serve 25 years and more. A South African teacher says she is stranded in the coronavirus epicentre with other South Africans and is disappointed at the lack of effort by the SA government to get them home. Pittaway spoke to  702  presenter Bongani Bingwa on Friday and said the virus had reached its peak in the city. “We are now completely stranded ...
